The Sobell mandolin
Stefan Sobell is a name that has been associated with high end instruments for more than 30 years, and still regarded as the best celtic mandolin maker. His instruments have been a favourite with people like Andy Irvine for many years and many crazy people run and buy them in a hope to sound just like him ( me )
This instrument is about 10 years old now and it is just a wonderful instrument to play. It has than bell like tone and an incredible balance across the strings. This instrument has been half way around the world with me in many countries and in many different climates and it is always ready for a tune or two.
Stefan's instruments are world class, and worth every penny. I have the mandolin and the Octave mandolin and they are beautiful, I would love to try out one of his mandolas in any scale length.
