Portugese Guitarra

 

This is a recewntly made model and has a very interesting tone. Beautiful instrument but I am not that good at playing this, though I enjoy it alot. I also have an older Guitarra which has a much more beautiful tone, to my ears. It has had alot of play over the years and is visible.

 

Below, left to right is the older guitarra, the mandola guitarra and the modern guitarra. The mandola in the middle is quite amazing, and I much prefer playing this. With a Braziliam rosewood back and sides and a spruce top, it plays like heavan.

The older guitarra seems to have a birch back and sides and the modern one has a walnut back and sides. Both with a spruce top but the modern one has a very white looking finish. The older has a rosewood fretboard and the modern a very solid ebony fretboard.
