Kieron,
I came across your site through the session discussions. Fair play to you
it is a Super site.
I first saw Andy in the Baggot Inn playing with Paul
Brady around 1978/79. And I was completely blown away by the music. I
went and bought a mandolin the week after. I tried my best to learn the
tunes but without much joy. Then my Mandolin died under a truck on the
road to Glendalough (fell off the back of my Bike). That was the end of
my trying to play music for over twenty years.
Being too busy with work, kids and all that stuff. Then a trip to town to
tax the car ended with a bouzouki and no car tax. And away with the music
again. I have now added a mandola and I am still trying to get close to
the sounds Andy stared in my head all those years ago.
You mentioned a book on your site.Aiming for the heart. I have not heard
of this before, you also mentioned Heupfred Music.I have searched the
net for this but no joy. I wonder can you tell me where or how I can get
my hands on this. Also is any of Andy's Tunes written in sheet music.
Super site!
Thanks Phil
