The TV bits 2.
Here is a chance to see a few video clips of Andy Irvine and his many bands from TV. I will try to add new and old clips and bits of interest as time goes on. If you have anything on Video of Andy and his many bands playing or being interviewed, I would love to share some of them with you all here. Apologies for the short length of the clips but enjoy them and let me know your thoughts!

Here is Mick Hanly and Andy Irvine playing a duet of the Blacksmith on a show called 'As I Roved Out' in 1979. Mick adding some lovely back up to Andy's Waldzither playing. Two great musicians, caught in their prime. This is a poor quality clip but such a classic performance that a clip simply had to be added.
This clip is taken from a planxty concert around 1980. The clip shows Andy playing a beautiful Greek Bouzouki, together with Liam on the whistle. Another great track from Andy and with some wonderful bouzouki. Just watch the fingers moving on this tune, quite incredible !
Andy has played this for many years now, with many different bands and on different instruments too but you just can not going back to some of the early versions of this track. This track is probably responsible for many people getting into the bouzouki and mandolin. For all those people that still struggle to play this on the bouzouki, you will be in pain after watching the master play it on the mandolin. Joined on stage here with Donal Lunny on bouzouki and Paul Brady on Guitar. Fantastic !
Here is another short clip of Andy playing the mandolin and Harmonica with Paul Brady on Guitar. Andy put some beautiful mandolin, harmonica and bouzouki to some of the Paul Brady early albums and here is a lovely clip showing us a small piece of it.
Here is another early clip of Planxty with the original line up. Andy again on the mandolin singing 'The Jolly Beggar'. This was a very popular track in the Planxty days.
