TV Captures
I have a couple of TV clips that are wonderful, not many so I am hoping to get a few more sent to me, from you. I am still working out some tech things on cutting the down a bit to put on, but they are worth the wait. So pop back for the updates. Here is a couple of captures for now.
Andy Irvine and Mick Hanly singing the Blacksmith. From 1979.
Close up of the young fellow, from the same clip as above. I think the show was called 'As I roved Out '
Have a close look at Andy's instrument here. It should have 9 stings but he has removed the top single string, so he has a familiar 8 strings of the regular mandola. Andy producing a wonderful tone !!
Andy and Johnny Moynihan here, playing as part of Planxty. Andy on an old Gibson and Johnny on a very early Abnet.
A young Andy, again I think this is also 1979, with Planxty.
Andy playing the Gibson, captured from the same clip.
A very special Thank you to Anselm Gaynor for sending me these files, my first TV contribution. Much appreciated !!!
